There are very few contaminants that go as deep as these fish live to begin with. Next the oils are triple distilled to be sure that there is virtually nothing in the oil but the oil. The kind of regulation needed in the supplement industry is that claim are allowed if there is accepted scientific proof, that what is on the label MUST be in the product AFTER processing, and that there can be absolutely nothing in the product that is not the botanical(s) themselves. Approved tests must be done for contaminants and toxins. Interesting isn't it that there has not been one single herbal supplement or vitamin related death and there is a great outcry to regulate these products while the meds that ARE regulated cause thousands and thousands of deaths every year. The lack of regulation for supplements is crazy ~ but the good news is that with the new administration we should see a moving away from deregulation and so the science will be front and center (and important) for a product to hit the shelves. At least I hope. But until then, yes I agree....find a long-term company with solid science and stick with that.
